Located at the Southern gateway to Surfers Paradise in the longest standing licensed premise on the Gold Coast, Swingin Safari takes you back to Vintage Surfers Paradise nightlife of the 70's in which the Dinner Dance was the focal point of the hip scene.

Born as an original old school Queensland beach house in the fifties the premises evolved into 'Bacchus' the first Wine Bar in Queensland in the mid seventies, to become the legendary 'Crab Cooker' Australia's top seafood restaurant in the heady seventies and eighties.

Expect something totally different, slightly bohemian, charismatic, 'grown up'; a feel that's just on the stylish side of tacky, a retro-chic antithesis of that minimalists modern look. Set in an original Queensland beach house it offers 7 different themed rooms or areas for private parties dinners corporate functions and fun. So in the gallery images on this site you can see what we mean by Bruce Les Bar, the Parlour which doubles as a stage for live bands or comedy, the lounge which doubles as a dance floor on a Saturday Night, the Library, front balcony and lawn, Mexico or the back patio.

The music and entertainment is drawn from the best of regional local original artists musicians and DJs. The vibe is simply laid back and friendly the music funk soul classic old school rock n roll that gets you in the groove.
